The Province of St. Joseph of the Capuchin Order

Inspired by the gospel of Jesus and the example of Francis of Assisi, the Capuchin friars of the Province of St. Joseph, together with our partners in ministry, prayerfully build sister-brotherhood in the world.  We attend simply and directly to the spiritual and other basic human needs, especially those of the poor and disenfranchised, promoting justice for all.

St. Fidelis Friary, a residence for Capuchin Franciscan Friars of The Province of St. Joseph of the Capuchin Order, is currently seeking a Cook.  This individual will have primary responsibility to prepare and cook meals as scheduled to ensure a pleasant dining experience for friars, staff and guests.        

The Cook is responsible to develop menus according to special diet needs of the friars, incorporating fresh fruit and vegetables in meal planning when possible and financially reasonable, plan shopping lists, maintain inventory of food and supplies, prepare fresh baked goods, keep equipment and appliances in good working order and to develop and implement a cleaning schedule. 

Qualifications:  Two years experience in a similar environment and level of responsibility, demonstrated willingness and ability to create new menus and meals, good relational skills and the ability to work independently and with a team.  Ability to organize multiple projects simultaneously and demonstrate a professional demeanor are important.

The work schedule is tentatively established as Monday – Friday, 9:00 am – 4:00 pm
