Cars & Cigars – Smoke Detroit

Cars & Cigars Smoke Detroit was founded in 2014 by Tom Celani and Dario Bergamo after a visit to the Fuente’s Cigar Family School in the Dominican Republic. Benefitting the Celani Family Foundation and the Cigar Family Charitable Foundation,* this event brings together cars, Fuente cigars, Celani Family Vineyards wine, and a live auction for a festive night of fundraising. The proceeds from the event directly benefit children of the Cigar Family School in the Dominican Republic and underprivileged families and children through local Detroit charities, Gleaners Community Food Bank, Capuchin Soup Kitchen, and Forgotten Harvest.

Capuchin Souper Summer Celebration XXXVII

You’re invited to the Capuchin Souper Summer Celebration XXXVII on Saturday, June 16, 7:30 PM at Comerica Park.

Dressy summer attire is suggested. All are welcome to attend who are 21 years of age or older and admission is complimentary. Food available for purchase, cash bar, valet and complimentary self-parking are available, live entertainment, and fireworks! 

Jewelry raffle tickets are only $5 for your chance to win over $30,000 in prizes, whose proceeds benefit the Capuchin Soup Kitchen. Purchase your $5 raffle ticket by calling 313-579-2100 Ext. 159. You need not be present to win. You can also purchase raffle tickets at the event. 

Fr. Solanus Guild Circle, Huntington, IN - Pilgrimage Retreat

The Fr. Solanus Guild Circle, Huntington, IN is hosting a pilgrimage retreat at St. Felix Catholic Center (former home of Bl. Solanus) June 29-July 1. Presenters include Capuchin Friars Br. Richard Merling, Fr. Gerry Pehler plus Catherine Odell, Susan Tassone, and more.

25th Annual Benefit on the Bay

Enjoy a beautiful evening on Friday, August 24, at MacRay Harbor on Lake St. Clair. 100% of the event’s proceeds benefit the Capuchin Soup Kitchen. Organizer Mike Schodowski’s second-generation family-owned business, Shelving.com, will be underwriting the entire costs of the event.

Festivities begin with appetizers at 5:30 PM, and, as always, there will be silent and live auctions. A sit-down dinner will be served, followed by a short program, live bands and dancing.

Capuchin Night Out

Come play the original Fowling football bowling pin game at Capuchin Night Out! The 3rd annual Capuchin Night Out will be held at the Fowling Warehouse on Thursday, September 27 at 6 PM. This is a fun opportunity for young professionals to connect with the Capuchin Soup Kitchen and other young professionals.

Hunger Free in the D

The 5th annual Hunger Free in the D is presented by the Celani Family Foundation and News/Talk 760 WJR. This fundraising initiative supports the Capuchin Soup Kitchen, which is one of three charities who are benefiting from the fundraising.

The 46th annual SOCK (Support Our Capuchin Kitchen) dinner will be held at Cobo Center’s Grand Riverview Ballroom, Friday, November 30, 5:30-9 PM. Save the date! More details to come in late summer.
