Retreat Centers

"Creating safe and welcoming environments, where the gifts of all are cherished..."

Seeking solace in a busy world

Retreat Centers are an important ingredient in one’s spiritual journey. Retreat Centers allow an individual to have quiet time with God….whether it be walking beautiful paths, basking in the sun on a bench along a river, or praying in a still chapel. The Province of St. Joseph has three distinctly different retreat centers to choose from.

Capuchin Retreat Center
Washington, MI

Situated one half hour north of Detroit, Capuchin Retreat offers a variety of retreat experiences. The property is bounded on two sides by the State Nature Center, providing a contemplative setting for those seeking the opportunity for prayer and renewal.

St. Anthony’s Retreat Center
Marathon, WI

Rich with history, St. Anthony’s was built in 1917 as a friary and as a site for theological training for Capuchin students. Situated along the Rib River, St. Anthony’s wooded acreage provides a wide variety of retreat experiences.

Monte Alverno Retreat Center
Appleton, WI
Monte Alverno’s beautiful setting is thought of as “holy ground” for many. Immediately outside of Appleton’s city limits, Monte Alverno rests along the banks of the scenic Fox River. Retreatants are invited to reflect prayerfully during the many weekend and evening retreats.
