Sweet and Sour | Agridulce

Friday of the 33rd Week in Ordinary Time

Revelation 10:8-11; Luke 19:45-48

It’s easy to talk about how wonderful the word of God is. It’s reassuring to know that we’re doing God’s will. But there are consequences to taking God’s word seriously, proclaiming it, and following his will.

God’s word, the prophetic scroll, tasted sweet to John. But digesting it and the pain and suffering of purification that it foretold made it turn sour in his stomach. In driving out the merchants and driving out the merchants, Jesus was true to his Father’s will. But it also drew him closer to death.

Faith, hope, and love are easy—in the abstract. They’re not so easy in action. God, give us the strength to receive and proclaim your word and follow your will.

Viernes de la 33ª semana en tiempo ordinario

Apocalipsis 10:8-11; Lucas 19:45-48
