Capuchin Friar Baudry Metangmo, OFM Cap., ordained to the priesthood

MT. CALVARY, WISCONSIN – The Capuchin Franciscan Province of St. Joseph joyfully announces that Friar Baudry Metangmo, OFM Cap., was ordained to the priesthood on Saturday, January 25, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. Central Time. The ordination Mass, presided over by the Most Rev. Jerome Feudjio, Bishop of the U.S. Virgin Islands, took place at St. Lawrence Seminary Chapel.

Born and raised in Cameroon, Central Africa, Br. Baudry’s life has been shaped by faith, family, and service. Reflecting on his journey to the priesthood, he shared:

“What I’ve discovered for myself is that no matter what ministry we’re engaged in, as Franciscans, it is community life that gives it meaning. It is in being brothers to one another and to those we serve that we truly embody the Gospel.”

Br. Baudry’s discernment journey began as a child in Cameroon, where he was inspired by the deep Catholic faith of his family and the witness of missionary priests. After moving to the United States to attend Montana State University in Billings, he encountered the Capuchin friars and felt called to join their way of life.

For Br. Baudry, the road to ordination was one of trust and surrender to God’s will. “The Lord has shown me again and again that He provides,” he said. “He has given me joy, a sense of family, and a call to bring Christ to others. I desire to serve Him forever.”

Br. Baudry has been serving at St. Lawrence Seminary High School in the Archdiocese of Milwaukee, where he has worked to foster faith and community among students. His ordination was a moment of joy and thanksgiving for the Province and all who have journeyed with him.

Following the ordination Mass, attendees gathered for a reception to celebrate this significant milestone in Br. Baudry’s life and ministry.
