Celebrate Solanus documentary tells miraculous story of Capuchin friar’s journey to sainthood

CELEBRATE SOLANUS DOCUMENTARY TELLS MIRACULOUS STORY OF BELOVED CAPUCHIN FRIAR’S JOURNEY TO SAINTHOOD

Following the 2017 beatification of Blessed Solanus Casey, the Capuchin Franciscan friar on his way to becoming the second American-born male saint, a new documentary film, Celebrate Solanus, traces his life of humble service to the poor and the sick, and the road to sainthood.

Celebrate Solanus, produced by Rochester, Michigan-based Foxfire Entertainment, features interviews with Capuchin friars who knew and lived with Blessed Solanus. The documentary is available on DVD for $19.99 plus shipping with proceeds benefiting Capuchin ministries. Copies are available at the Solanus Casey Center Gift Shop or online at SolanusCenter.org or CelebrateSolanus.com.

"I've always been intrigued by Blessed Solanus ever since I was young. I’m honored to be the person that composed his story,” said Noel Thompson, producer/director of Celebrate Solanus. “I hope that Celebrate Solanus reaches many.”

As the welcoming presence greeting visitors at the door of St. Bonaventure Monastery, Blessed Solanus responded to the needs of those seeking help at the monastery, especially the sick and the poor. Those desperate for answers to their prayers would find that miracles would sometimes take place when Father Solanus would pray for their intentions. Even after his death in 1957, people continued to ask Solanus Casey to intercede on their behalf.

The Celebrate Solanus DVD includes bonus features such as a recording of his 1945 memoirs as well as audio of Blessed Solanus singing and playing the violin.
