International Day of Prayer for Peace Service

People of all faiths and cultures are invited to a prayer service to celebrate the International Day of Prayer for Peace. The vigil for peace will begin in St. Bonaventure Chapel and then open onto the streets for a prayerful walk around the block. Bring a battery powered light to hold in the procession. Music provided by the Capuchin Soup Kitchen Choir and the 2nd Evergreen Baptist Choir. Secure parking will be available.

47th SOCK (Support Our Capuchin Kitchen) Dinner

The 47th Annual SOCK (Support Our Capuchin Kitchen) Dinner will be held at the Cobo Center on Friday, September 27, 2019. Come join us for a beautiful evening as we celebrate and support the Capuchin Soup Kitchen’s mission. The Capuchin Soup Kitchen is pleased to announce Ray and Maria Scott are our 2019 SOCK Dinner Co-Chairs! Ray Scott is president, chief executive officer and a director of Lear Corporation. Tickets along with sponsorship opportunities are now available!

Solanus Casey Center’s Simple Service Saturdays

Attention young adults aged 18-35: Solanus Casey Center’s Simple Service Saturdays take place the 1st Saturday every month. We begin at 9 AM with a prayer at the tomb of Blessed Solanus and blessing followed by a service opportunity at a Capuchin ministry site. Concludes at Noon with a simple lunch. Space is limited for this free event. Call 313.579.2100, ext. 1149 to reserve a spot.

An Evening with David Haas

Catholic liturgical composer and Michigan native David Haas will be with us for a performance of liturgical musical selections at St. Bonaventure Chapel. Mr. Haas is the composer of many well-known hymns, including “We are Called” and “You are Mine.” Tickets are $20.

28th Annual Bl. Solanus Casey Souperbowl

You're invited to the 28th Annual Blessed Solanus Casey Souperbowl benefit on Sunday, October 27, from Noon - 7pm. All-you-can-eat soup, bread, and desserts...donated by metro Detroit's finest restaurants and bakeries. Continuous entertainment provided by Detroit's best Irish musicians and step dancers. Proceeds benefit the Capuchin Soup Kitchen.
